Here is the 2010 Kalama Fair Court schedule and Fair Board meetings that have been scheduled so far. As you can see, the Board and Princess Court keep a full schedule. Check here often. When possible, this page is kept up to date with information as it is announced.
FEBRUARY 2010
February 10 - Interview of Princess candidates. 6:30 p.m., Community Building.
February 12 - Letters of recommendation due.
February 20 - Debut of 2010 Kalama Fair Princess Court - 2 p.m., Kalama Church of the Nazarene.
February 26-27 - Annual Flea Market Bake Sale and Bingo, Kalama Community Building.
MARCH 2010
Bingo, St. Joseph Parish Hall - Princesses should be there at noon. Bingo starts at 2 p.m.
APRIL 2010
April 6 - Princess meeting 6:00 p.m. followed by Fair Board meeting at 7:00 p.m., Kalama City Hall, Council Chamber.
April 11 - Easter Bake and Basket Sale, in front of Kalama Shopping Center, 10 a.m.-3 p.m., Wear your work shirts.
April 20 - Princess meeting 6:00 p.m. followed by Fair Board meeting at 7:00 p.m., Community Building.
April 25-26 - Car Wash/Bake Sale - If weather is good, Car Wash at Fire Station; otherwise, Bake Sale at Kalama Shopping Center. 10:00 a.m. until about 3 p.m.
MAY 2010
May 2 - Loyalty Days Parade, Long Beach, Washington. Meet at the Kalama Shopping Center at 10:00 a.m. Wear your work shirts, slacks, and bring crown.
May 3 - Loyalty Days Parade, Long Beach, Washington. Work on the float will begin at 7 or 8 a.m. Float should be ready by 10 a.m. (or 11 a.m.) for judging. Parade begins at 1 p.m. 100 Quick Sell Tickets will be available. Princess Float outfits will be worn.
May 4 - Princess meeting 6:00 p.m. followed by Fair Board meeting at 7:00 p.m., Community Building.
May 8 - Mother's Day Basket Sale. Princesses help Friday after school. Sherry's Corner.
May 9 - Mother's Day Basket Sale. Sherry's Corner 10:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.
May 13-14 - Flower Basket and Bake Sale
May 16 - Kalama Firemen, Water Safety Day, Kress Lake. 10:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. Wear work t-shirt and pants, no crown.
May 18 - Princess meeting 6:00 p.m. followed by Fair Board meeting at 7:00 p.m., Community Building.
JUNE 2010
June 6 - International Festival, Lower Columbia Community College, Ethnic Support Council. Be at the Student Center at 9:45 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Wear work t-shirts, black/dark pants, crown.
June 7 - Car Wash/Bake Sale - depends on weather.
June 17 - Arts and Crafts Blue Ribbon Camp, First Day of Summer Vacation (subject to change).
June 20 - Planter's Day Parade, Woodland, Washington. Meet at the "gazebo park" (corner of 1st and Elm) at 7:45 a.m. sharp - need to be in Woodland by 8:00 a.m. Princesses should come dressed in their princess outfits - dresses, crowns, sashes, gloves, etc. We will set up the float in the Fleetwood parking lot. Judging will take place between 9 and 10. Float will be dismantled at Loomis. After the parade plan on selling tickets for at least an hour.
June 20 - Italian Dinner, Kalama Community Building. Be there at 5:30 p.m. Wear white t-shirts, black pants, and crowns - no sashes. Everyone needs to bring at least one person to help with the serving.
June 26 - Fairgrounds Work Party - wear old clothes.
JULY 2010
July 1 - Princess Meeting/Work Party, 5:30 p.m., Kalama Fairgrounds.
July 4 - Clatskanie Parade, Clatskanie, Oregon. Meet at Toteff Park at 7:30. Will be in Clatskanie at 8:30, parade starts at 11 - trophies handed out at 3:00 p.m. Quick sale tickets will be handed out after the parade. Happy Birthday, Mara!
July 7 - Senior Lunch, Methodist Church, 11:45 a.m. Wear T-Shirts and Crown. Be sure and have plenty of tickets with you!
July 8 - Work Party, 9 a.m., Kalama Fairgrounds.
July 10 - Turn in tickets - Deadline Noon at the fairgrounds. Wear your crowns and yellow t-shirts, bring something to eat. Will be there all afternoon. Will help taking in fair entries. 6:30 p.m. - Coronation Practice. Escorts should plan on attending practice.
July 11 - 6:45 a.m. meet at Kalama Shopping Center. KUKN/KLOG Radio Station, wear yellow t-shirts and crowns. Noon - Be at fairgrounds. Princesses will be with Mara until 7:00 p.m. - Kalama Fair Queen Coronation.
July 17 - AM Northwest
July 18 - Amboy Parade, Amboy, Washington
July 20 - Senior Lunch, Methodist Church
July 22-23 - Fair Entries, Coronation practice. Kalama Fairgrounds
July 23 - NOON - Turn in all tickets, sold and unsold.
July 24 - KLOG/KUKN Radio Station
July 24 - Kalama Fair Queen Coronation - 7:00 p.m.
JULY 23-25 - KALAMA FAIR!!
July 25 - Kalama Chamber of Commerce Parade. Meet on Frontage Road at 9:00 a.m., float judging at 10:00 a.m., Parade begins at 11:00 a.m. Following parade, activities at the Kalama Fair.
July 25 - Kalama River Fun Run/Walk.
